APD Press Conference - 4:30
KRON 4 is reporting that Antioch Police will be hosting a press conference to discuss the dragging murder by Cavallo. We will update any new information as it comes out.
UPDATE: A man in a Nissan Frontier dragged a female to her death around 1:50 A.M. this morning at the corner of Cavallo and East 18th in Antioch. He has been idenitified as Brentwood resident Lucio Rivera-Avila. The victim has been identified as Shelly Baker (Age 47).
Avila and Baker were together that night in the same vehicle. As they got in a dispute Baker tried to exit the vehicle and Avila ran her over multiple times. There is video of the incident from a local gas station, but the Antioch Police have decided to not release it to the media. They would like to see the case tried in Contra Costa County and releasing the video would jeopardize that.
Avila is a convicted felon. Police searched his Brentwood residence and found an unlawful firearm. Later tonight he will be transported from the Antioch jail to the Contra Costa County jail.

The results from the recent elections have been certified by the Contra Costa County Elections Division. The two new members of the Antioch City Council are Lt. Wade Harper and Gary Agopian. Wade Harper ran a solid campaign and received 24% of the vote. Gary Agopian edged out Arne Simonsen by a slim margin of 157 votes.
